Following deadly flooding in the Commonwealth, the National Weather Service will release safety information for severe weather throughout the coming week.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear visited the communities that were hit hardest by flooding and severe storms earlier this month.At least 23 people died as a result of the weather, with many cities in the Commonwealth struggling as high water impacts homes and businesses.

The governor said state officials are still waiting for approval of an expedited major disaster declaration, which would grant individual assistance.
