The “No Kings” protests brought out crowds of seven million Americans on Saturday, while Republicans maintained that President Trump is not a king. On Monday’s “Daily Show,” Jon Stewart whipped out a wig for a “surprise inspection” of the Declaration of Independence, seeing how Trump fared with the 27 specific grievances listed against the king.
Jon Stewart has declared that Donald Trump does indeed act like a king, and his hands are what prove it.
“The ironic part about Republicans complaining that he is being dubbed a king is that in their minds, he has already surpassed that title anyway and moved on to a much higher calling,” Stewart says. “He’s not a king. He’s a deity, sent by God to bring peace to all of mankind, a Jesus-like figure. I mean, I get it. There is a lot of crossover.”
Following the protest that saw many millions take to the streets across the U.S., The Daily Show wasn’t going to miss out on a reaction piece.
