Following the 33-month sentence, Jennings said Hankison will be required to serve three years on supervised release while also receiving mental health treatment.

Hankison, who shot several times during the botched Breonna Taylor raid in March 2020, was in court at the U.S. Federal Courthouse in Louisville, Kentucky on July 21, 2025.

Hankison was convicted by a federal jury in November 2024 of one count of violating Taylor's civil rights, after the first attempt to prosecute him ended with a mistrial.
