Update: Containment progress – Gifford Fire in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara County at 21%
Gifford Fire initially started 3:44 p.m. Aug. 1 in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara County, California. It has burned 104,402 acres after being active for eight days. A fire crew of 3,685 has been working on site and, as of Saturday morning, they managed to contain 21% of the fire. However, the cause is still under investigation.
