An official synopsis for the film reads: “Set in 1987 Oakland, ‘ Freaky Tales ‘ is a multi-track mixtape of colorful characters — an NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, teen punks, neo-Nazis, and a debt collector — on a collision course in a fever dream of showdowns and battles.”

Along with Pascal (“The Mandalorian” and upcoming “Fantastic Four: First Steps”), the film stars Tom Hanks, Ben Mendelsohn (“Rouge One”), late Oakland native and actor Angus Cloud (“Euphoria”) and Jay Ellis (“Top Gun: Maverick”) as real life former Oakland Warriors player Eric Augustus "Sleepy" Floyd, who made the NBA All-Star team in 1987.
