PARIS — France has discussed with Denmark sending troops to Greenland in response to United States President Donald Trump's repeated threats to annex the Danish territory, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said.

Barrot confirmed that France discussed the issue with Denmark but stressed there are no immediate plans for action.

Danish PM Frederiksen, however, signalled she had "no reason to believe there is a military threat to Greenland or Denmark."
