On Monday, HBO shared a first look image of Zendaya as Rue in the highly anticipated third season of the hit show. "#Euphoria Season 3 is in production," Max captioned the post.

We may have photographic proof that Zendaya is back on set, but the majority of the Euphoria cast is also expected to return to HBO (and streaming with a Max subscription) for the third season. That includes Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Colman Domingo, Eric Dane and more.

Series creator Sam Levinson previously described the new season as a "film noir." HBO has at long last dropped a first look at season 3 of Euphoria, three years after the celebrated teen drama was renewed.

HBO says production has begun on the drama series and shared a first photo from the season, with Zendaya’s Rue looking over her shoulder in a dimly lit room. HBO also shared the photo on its social channels, with the brief message “ Euphoria season 3 is in production.”

However, the darkened frame looks like just about any other shot from any other season of Euphoria, so it’s not the most convincing image in terms of proof of life. Since the second season aired, the word has been that the next installment will feature a time jump that takes the characters out of Euphoria High.

The Monday news comes a few months after after HBO boss Casey Bloys dispelled rumors concerning a potential cancellation of “Euphoria,” saying “nothing has changed” with the network’s plans to move forward with Season 3.

Production on Season 3 of Euphoria is officially underway. The show shared an image on social media Monday morning announcing the start.

The main cast of “Euphoria” includes Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, Alexa Demie, and Eric Dane. Angus Cloud, who broke out in his role as Fezco, died at age 25 in July 2023.
