Negotiators from Hamas, Israel and the United States began indirect talks in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh with President Donald Trump saying they were down to the “final details.”

Egypt, a key intermediary in truce talks, said it would host delegations from Israel and Hamas to discuss a possible exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas leader Fawzi Barhoum in a statement Tuesday said the terror group would not allow Israel to end the war as victors. “Despite the brutal military force, unlimited support, and full American partnership in the war of extermination in Gaza, they have not and will not succeed in achieving a false image of victory,” the terrorist leader claimed.

Hamas officials were in Egypt on Monday ahead of talks with Israel that the U.S. hopes will bring a halt to war in Gaza and release of hostages.

Negotiators in Egypt are discussing President Trump’s 20-point peace plan, which includes a hostage-prisoner exchange and a plan to rebuild Gaza.

The gathering appeared designed to rally international support behind the Trump vision for putting an end to the war.
