Tropical depression Chantal Storm Chantal moved over North Carolina late Sunday night, causing flash flooding in numerous counties and leading to dozens of water rescues, authorities said, before going over Virginia.

Depression Chantal continues to move across southern and eastern Virginia, bringing flash flood threats to the area, the National Hurricane Center said.
