Tesla may soon face a significant hurdle in Canada. Chrystia Freeland, a candidate for the leadership of Canada’s Liberal Party, has proposed a 100% tariff on U.S.-made Teslas in response to former President Donald Trump’s latest trade policies, The Canadian Press reported.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says Canada should charge 100 per cent tariffs on Tesla vehicles for as long as the trade war with the United States continues. In a news release issued Monday, Singh said an NDP federal government would also revive Ottawa's incentive program for electric vehicle purchases.
