Mrs. Al Sanford, former well-known resident, will arrive in Flagstaff tonight from her home in Chandler to spend a two-week visit at the home of Mrs. E. Miller. Mrs. Rose Verkamp of Cincinnati, O. is expected to arrive this weekend to spend several weeks visit with Miss Theresa Clark at the J.C. Dolan home.
An Arizona resident has died from the plague as officials were probing whether a prairie dog die-off in the area was also tied to the lethal illness.
A Flagstaff patient died from pneumonic plague, officials confirmed. It’s the first recorded case in Coconino County in nearly two decades.
Another previous city council candidate, Dennis Givens, has also filed to run again in 2026. Givens was unsuccessful in his 2024 campaign, receiving the fewest votes of the candidates on the ballot (though more than either of the write-in candidates). He is an NAU graduate and former track and field athlete.
