Michigan gas prices dropped by 15 cents since last week, according to AAA. Michiganders are paying an average of $3.06 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, which is 6 cents less than this time last month and 59 cents less than this time a year ago.

The Michigan state average for gas prices this past weekend was down 15 cents from a week ago. Motorists are hopeful that will continue during Memorial Day Weekend.

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand decreased from 9.09 million barrels per day last week to 8.71 million. Meanwhile, the total domestic gasoline supply slightly increased from 225.5 million barrels to 225.7 million. Gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 9.7 million barrels per day.
