Flagg is coming off a Player of the Year campaign at Duke as a freshman and is second only to Victor Wembanyama among prospects since I began evaluating players in 2016.

The Dallas Mavericks won the lottery Monday, falling backward from the disastrous Luka Dončić deal into the right to select Flagg at No. 1 on June 25.

Flagg was the No. 1 overall recruit in 2024 and has been viewed as a can't-miss draft prospect since before stepping foot on campus in Durham.
