Commissioner Rob Manfred said Tuesday that Major League Baseball is "trying to iron through (the) logistics" that would allow MLB players to participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. MLB officials met with Olympic representatives earlier this week and both the league and players have interest in Olympic participation.

Major League Baseball’s rosters are littered with talent from all over the globe. In 2028, many of those players might find themselves competing with each other for the ultimate international prize: an Olympic gold medal.

After being excluded from the 2024 Paris Olympics, baseball is returning to Los Angeles in 2028. However, the competition might look much different than the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the last time baseball was contested.
