DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The U.S. military is helping intercept missiles that Iran fired in retaliation at Israel, a U.S. official says. The U.S. has been moving assets nearer to Israel to assist in missile intercepts and to provide better protection of U.S. bases in the region.

President Trump says the Iranians want to talk with the U.S. to de-escalate tensions with Israel, but insisted there were 60 days to chat before an Israeli operation targeted Iran's nuclear program. CBS News' Olivia Rinaldi reports.
