Holgate is a village in Henry County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,061 at the 2020 census. Holgate, formerly known as Kaufmanville, was platted in 1873 when the railroad was extended to that point and incorporated as a village in 1881. The village has the name of William Holgate, the original owner of the town site. A post office has been in operation since 1874.
